Jumped In The Street... By A Dog :)

Image
Sister Richardson's Split Seconds So we knocked on this door, and I am not kidding—five HUGE dogs came running through the door and jumped on top of me. If you know me, you know how bad I am with animals, so it was quite the sight to see me trying to help this family round up their insane dogs while they continued to jump on top of me. Good times. Met this awesome guy named Abdil this week and put him on date to be baptized next month! God truly does prepare us to meet certain people. A random man asked my companion and me if we were a mother/daughter duo. People are insane! Mosiah 14:5: "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed." Because of the sacrifice Jesus Christ made, we can find healing from any pain, sickness, or grief. Turn to Him in all things! I am learning that, a lot of times, we just need to get to work, and God will help us. We can't wait ...

Another Day, Another Door In Our Face :)

Sister Richardson's Split Seconds The more people I talk to, the funnier the day usually gets. People are crazy. A sweet lady named Esther gave us mango juice while we talked to her about the Book of Mormon, and it made my day! (pictured below) If you need to be humbled or want a good laugh, go knock on someone's door and invite them to church. It provides either good entertainment or a punch to your pride. Our friend David came to church... all by himself... without a reminder! Which is HUGE because no one ever shows up, even when they have confirmed multiple times that they will be there! Little miracles are all around us every single day. All you have to do is look for them. God is in every detail, and the more you look for the good, the more joy you feel! Thank you for your love, support, and prayers! I feel it all, and it seriously keeps me going! Have a great week! Love, Sister Richardson

Cat-Called, Cussed Out, And Cursed

Sister Richardson's Super Split Seconds Yes, all three of those things have happened—some multiple times—in my grand total of 4 days in the field. This is a friendly reminder to just be a patient and loving human being so that we can make the world a kinder place! I'm serving in Alexandria, VA. It's a super diverse area with all types of people from all walks of life, which is awesome! My trainer is Sister Blad! She's super funny and very good at striking up conversations with anyone and everyone—especially the crazies, lol. I was surprisingly sad to leave the MTC. Mostly because I truly met some of my favorite people! Branch 21, you have my heart forever. I have literally no idea what's going on 99% of the time, but I'm trying my best to be helpful and to soak up everything placed in front of me. God loves effort, so do your best in all things, and I promise He will make up the difference. Love you all so much! Have a great week, beautiful people!

Peace & Love From Provo :)

Sister Richardson's Super Split Seconds Seriously, such a good week! So many reasons to smile, laugh, and happy-cry! Sister Church is so awesome, and working with her has been such a fun experience! Do something good for your body today! Sister Church and I both love to be active, so having a workout buddy has been so fun! Lots of learning and growing going on! I feel like I'm sitting in front of a fire hose all day long—but in a good way. A second round of hard goodbyes, but I'm grateful for all that I have been able to learn from those around me! It’s crazy that I’ve only known most everyone for 2–3 weeks, yet I feel like I’ve known them forever. P.S. My next email will be from the mission field (yayayayaya). P.P.S. If you are looking for a quick, uplifting message, watch the video below! It's my absolute favorite and makes me cry every time for all the right reasons. Love you all so much! —Sister Richardson https://www. churchofjesuschrist.org/media/ video/2013-01-00...
