Real Life Angels
Sister Richardson's Super Split Seconds
*Disclaimer: This is a little longer, but I couldn't skip sharing Clara's story. If you're bored, don't read it. I'm not offended. :) *
Clara. Where do I begin? Clara is a single mom who we randomly met 2.5 weeks ago in a parking lot. We invited her to church and now she's set to be baptized on August 5th! Her life hasn't been anywhere close to easy, but she sees how turning towards Christ makes the challenges of life easier to carry. Watching the atonement work in her life has been one of the most sacred experiences of my life. She's hilarious and just so real. She's literally my soul sister. She calls us her angels and rays of sunshine, which always cracks me up because that's exactly what she is to me. It's easy to question your purpose as a missionary, but Clara is a reminder to me of why I chose to serve a mission and of the divine plans God has for each of us. Everyone's journey in life is so different, which allows us to be real-life angels to those around us. We often don’t see the impact our actions have, but just remember, as you work every day to turn outwards and serve others, you have the power to be an answer to someone's desperate prayers. There are people who need YOU! If you ever feel forgotten or purposeless, email me. I promise you, you have a divine role on this earth.
Sister Blad got transferred! It was soooo hard to see her leave! 6 weeks went by too quickly, but I'm excited all the same for these next 6 weeks. My new companion is Sister VanDyke. She's also a real-life angel! She's so kind, sweet, and has the funniest little sense of humor. I just love her!
I love my area so much. Every interaction is so interesting for so many reasons. Here's a good one from this week:
Us: "Hi sir, do you want to come to church with us?" Him: "Sure." Us: "Great! Here's the information, blah blah blah. What's your name?" Him: "You can call me Mr. Doo Doo Man. Peace out." proceeds to roll a joint and walk away
In the words of my dear friend Mr. Doo Doo Man, peace out! I love you all and hope you have a great week!!
Love,
