Spread Love, Not Germs

Sister Richardson's Super Split Seconds

Hey party people! Another jam-packed week here in Annandale! I feel like we are always doing at least two things at once, but it's rewarding and keeps me on my toes!

You know those people that just inspire you to be better? Yeah, well that is Sister Morrill! I'm so grateful for the six weeks we were able to spend together because they truly made me better! Sister Morrill, you're my hero. Remember me when you're famous. My new companion, Sister Larsen, is also a ROCKSTAR! She's got so much energy, and we've just hit the ground running! We are both stoked to see where this transfer takes us.

Everyone and their mom is sick right now, including myself. I blame the bone-biting wind chill.

In the past few days, we've had a homeless man ask us for dating advice, a lady ask us to go to court with her, and a dude decline our church invitation by explaining to us how the world was going to end in 2011. Sometimes I wonder if we are the crazy ones, because it seems as though everyone is INSANE.

Al Carraway stated that, "When you are hanging on by what feels like just a thread, make sure it's a thread that is a part of His hem." I love this for so many reasons. I think we oftentimes beat ourselves up when we are struggling or feel like we are at a breaking point. Carraway's simple statement reminds us that we don't need to have our lives together, but rather we just need to be intentional with whatever remaining energy we have. In the Bible, the woman with the issue of blood was healed by touching the hem of the Savior’s garment. In this story, the Savior teaches that the woman's faith "made thee whole." We can't physically grab the thread of Christ's garments, but we can work to muster the faith we need to reach for Christ's garments. This will look different for each of us, but I know that as we all reach for the Savior, we will build our trust in Him, and in His ability to make each of us WHOLE!

Sending love from VA,
Sister Richardson
