The Surface Of The Sun

Sister Richardson's Super Split Seconds Howdy, party people! How is summer treating you? Sadly, my time with Sister Church came to an end on Friday. I'm so grateful for the additional 6 weeks we were able to spend together in the field. It was so special to see all the growth we've made and to hit some major milestones together! My new companion is Sister Reese! She is a joyous beast and I can't wait to see where the next 6 weeks take us! Remember my Peloton era? Yeah, well, my bike got stolen. I guess the hunk of junk was worth more than I thought. RIP to biking for now. I'm not too torn up about it, as it quite literally feels like a furnace outside. Virginia summer is in full swing! Most of last transfer felt like a big waiting period before something huge! We still don't know exactly what that "something" is, but it's been cool to see the miracles God has worked on our behalf. This truly is His work and we are just the hands He uses to complete...

Sister Richardson's Super Split Seconds Another week in the books! Time is flying and crawling at the same time, mission time is so weird! Even so, I wouldn't trade this experience for the world! I had the chance to go back to Vint Hill on Friday for an exchange and let's just say my cup was filled! Reconnecting with old friends and seeing the little streets and neighborhoods that molded me into a better human nearly brought me to tears! I am eternally grateful to God for all of the wonderful people He's placed along my journey as a missionary because THEY are truly what make every hard day worth it! Virginia will truly always have a piece of my heart because of these sweet people! We were out and about and we knocked on this family's door. Their six-year-old son answered the door and just blankly stared at us while he waited for his parents to make it to the door. His mom came downstairs and chatted with us for a second. As we were getting ready to leave, she was l...

Peloton Queens

Sister Richardson's Super Split Seconds What up, party people?! How are you doing? Send me a life update and pictures if you have a second. People love to walk and utilize the trails in our area. So in true missionary fashion, we got bikes! The sweetest member family was getting rid of some bikes, so they passed them off to us! They are absolutely nothing close to Peloton quality, but it's all about the mindset, am I right? Besides, the air in my tires, or lack thereof, could most definitely classify my bike as stationary. I'm currently cruising around on a children's bike with one working brake, and I couldn't be happier. It definitely helps that we still have a car to supplement for the longer stretches of travel, but I have thoroughly enjoyed chatting up my fellow bikers on the trails of Aldie, VA. Our sweet friend KK and his family made us curry! We mentioned how we wanted to try authentic Indian curry at our volleyball group, and without a second thought KK sai...

God Is Good In Gainesville

Sister Richardson's Super Split Seconds Howdy howdy!! Happy summer! I cannot believe it is JUNE!! Send me fun pictures and updates throughout the summer, por favor!! Things are cranking along nicely out here. The people are so lovely (most of the time) and so is the scenery. Virginia never fails to take my breath away. I've developed a whole new love and appreciation for green and for beautiful country skies. We volunteer at a farm once a week and boy oh boy is it fun. I will say, however, it was pretty humbling to see that I developed a blister after a singular hour of planting stakes in the ground last week. This city slicker needs some help. Don't fret though, Farmer Jim is whipping me into country girl shape. Like the title says, God is good here in Gainesville. As you know, last week was a tough one for me. I was really reluctant to start another week because I was honestly quite exhausted emotionally and physically. I learned a long time ago that it's useless to s...
