Peloton Queens
Sister Richardson's Super Split Seconds
What up, party people?! How are you doing? Send me a life update and pictures if you have a second.
People love to walk and utilize the trails in our area. So in true missionary fashion, we got bikes! The sweetest member family was getting rid of some bikes, so they passed them off to us! They are absolutely nothing close to Peloton quality, but it's all about the mindset, am I right? Besides, the air in my tires, or lack thereof, could most definitely classify my bike as stationary. I'm currently cruising around on a children's bike with one working brake, and I couldn't be happier. It definitely helps that we still have a car to supplement for the longer stretches of travel, but I have thoroughly enjoyed chatting up my fellow bikers on the trails of Aldie, VA.
Our sweet friend KK and his family made us curry! We mentioned how we wanted to try authentic Indian curry at our volleyball group, and without a second thought KK said, "My family will make you some!" He showed up this week, curry and boys in tow, to serve us, and it nearly brought me to tears! They even lowered the spice level for us, and it was just so incredibly wholesome. People are so incredibly kind.
One lesson I've been learning repeatedly is the importance of letting things go. One luxury you are not afforded on a mission is the ability to dwell on little things. Why, you ask? Well, if you want to help others come to know the Savior, you've got to live like Him and carry His spirit with you. The best way to hinder that is to hold on to things that don't matter. As much as I sometimes want to bite back at mean people or throw a pity party over unjust situations, I've learned again and again it's just not worth it. I can't stress enough the importance of practicing forgiveness and daily repentance. Doing both has made all the difference in my ability to give love and, in turn, feel love. I'm nowhere close to perfect, but I'm definitely proud of myself for the growth I've been able to see as I've made an effort to give up my pride and turn to the Savior. So with that in mind, what are you holding onto and what is it keeping you from experiencing? Take it from me, it's not worth it. Let it go.
