Hello lovely people! Life is busy but good here! It's officially fall, and I just can't say enough good things about VA in the fall. It's GORGEOUS.

A definite highlight from the week was having the chance to spend the day back in Annandale with the lovely Sister Barney! She's an absolute ray of sunshine, and she's helped me so much to grow in my understanding of who the Savior is and how He operates. Everyone needs a Sister Barney in their life!

A sweet member took us to tour his office today, which also happens to be the Pentagon. It was so rad. I wish I could accurately put into words the energy present in the Pentagon because it was truly invigorating.

As I'm sure you can imagine, there were quite a few tributes to the victims of 9/11 around the Pentagon. All of them were very moving, but one in particular got me thinking. It said something along the lines of, "The enemy tried to divide us, but in doing so made us stronger together." This simple yet powerful truth was definitely evident in the days and months following the tragedy of 9/11. This statement is also very applicable for each of us today as we fight our own spiritual battles. Satan is doing everything in his power to create a divide between us and the Savior. Trials and temptations can create a divide, but I've found that when we face them head-on with the help of the Savior, we become more reliant on Him and, in turn, stronger together with Him. I love this country, I love our Savior, and I especially love the freedom and strength we are granted from following Him!

It doesn't really hurt me anymore, but it also doesn't make for a great email home. On top of that, I had a lot of unexpected anxiety about ending my mission pop up, so this week was... really something. With that, I thought I'd keep it brief and share some of what's been bouncing around my head for the last 18 months. Growing up, whenever I experienced a setback or some sort of defeat in softball, my dad would often tell me, "The game's not over until it is." I'm serving right below the area I served in a few months ago and right next to my first area. Honestly, I couldn't be happier; I love this little neck of the woods! I'm serving with the lovely Sister Wallin from Southern California! She's got so much fire, so I'm excited for what's ahead! TALL CEDARS, I LOVE YOU!
