Freaky Friday, Saturday, Sunday

Sister Richardson's Super Split Seconds

I didn't think I'd have much to report on after only a few days, but boy, oh boy, was I wrong. If there's one thing you can count on, it's that things will get weird out here real fast. We also had some spiritual highs worth noting too!

Friday was genuinely one of the hardest days I've had so far. Nothing out of the ordinary went wrong, but I just struggled so hard to be happy. So much so that I started crying when my sweet dad sent us a gift card for ice cream. THANK YOU, DAD!

Justin got baptized on Saturday morning! I met him in a park while he was running about 2 months ago. He said he'd be interested in coming to church, and from there, he progressed to baptism. It was truly amazing to witness his conversion journey and all the little miracles along the way.

A member invited us over for dinner, which also happened to be her son's wedding reception? It was quite the experience. Just so you understand a little bit of how out of this world the encounter was, imagine a couple cutting their wedding cake, and not even 5 feet away, the father of the groom is swimming in the pool. It was a unique approach, for sure.

Last night, our mission put on a devotional in which recent converts shared their stories. While listening to each individual speak, I was reminded of a few things. The first being that everyone's conversion to Christ looks different because WE are all different. Christ meets us on a level that is unique and personal to each of us. No one's conversion will be the same, and because of that, we can learn from one another as we share how Christ has helped us individually.

We went to Arlington National Cemetery this morning with all the sisters in my zone, and it was just wonderful! That was also as close as we'll get to being in DC, lol. Lucky for me, I got to "touch" the Washington Monument.

Have yourself a wonderful week! I'm grateful for you and for the joy you bring into my life!

xoxo,
Sister Richardson
