Sunny And 75

Image
Sister Richardson's Super Split Seconds Hey again! I hope you all had an amazing weekend! Friday was quite literally one of the greatest days of my life. It was sunny and 75 degrees! We walked outside without coats and drove with the windows down, and it literally revitalized me. It's amazing what a little sunlight can do for the soul. Humbling moment. We knocked on a door, and it happened to be a house full of frat brothers. They pretty much laughed in our faces, but they did pity us enough to hear a scripture from the Book of Mormon. After we went to the temple with Seibatu and Fatimata, we walked through the Temple Visitor's Center. The main room of the visitor's center is home to a beautiful statue of the resurrected Christ. As we sat and admired the statue, these words played overhead: "Behold, I am Jesus Christ, whom the prophets testified shall come into the world. And behold, I am the light and the life of the world; and I have drunk out of that bitter cup ...

If You Give A Mouse A Cookie...

Sister Richardson's Super Split Seconds Hey everyone! We went to the temple today with some recent converts, so our P-day got moved to today! Stay tuned for some cute pictures of Fatimata and Seibatu at the temple. If you give a mouse a cookie in the Annandale sisters' apartment, it will probably end up on a sticky trap. And by "probably," I mean it will. We were fortunate enough to wake up to the squealing of a mouse stuck on one of the various sticky traps a few days ago. It was major PTSD to my previous encounters with rats. #barf Fun fact: Annandale is the largest hub for Koreans on the East Coast! It's full of cute Korean grandmas, K-pop, and of course, lots of delicious Korean bakeries! 11/10 recommended: the nurungi croissant. This past week was a cold one. Lots of snow and so much wind. I was worried I wasn't going to get to experience the joys of shoveling snow and slipping on ice this winter, but luckily I was given plenty of opportunities to do both...

Smoke Spaghetti

Image
Sister Richardson's Super Split Seconds As of today, I've been a missionary for 8 months! Serving a mission has challenged me beyond comprehension, but I wouldn't trade any of the hard because it's allowed me the opportunity to walk with my Savior. I truly can't think of a better way to spend my time! We are so busy every single day! Sister Morrill and I have the same brain, so it's been an absolute riot tackling Annandale together. As I mentioned last week, I'm back in the city, so guess what that means? The ghetto content is BACK! This week's highlight revolves around having to eat lukewarm spaghetti in a less than ideal situation. Just imagine hoards of cigarette butts, ashes, crushed beer cans, dog fur, and a deep stench of smoke permeating everything and everyone. 10/10 do not recommend. I've always known that we need to have faith in God, but these last 8 months have given me a whole new understanding of what faith is and the power it can bring...
