He Sees Our Effort

Sister Richardson's Super Split Seconds Hey friends and family! How is everyone doing? Things are good here in VA! Spring is in full swing! I'm allergic to something in the air, but other than that, life is good. #facerashforthewin We had to stop teaching almost everyone in our current teaching pool this week. As disheartening as it was to move on from so many people that I've truly grown to love, I've been reminded again and again that God is in control. He truly has a plan for each of us to reach our full potential. I know He's appreciative of the effort we put in to help His children reach their full potential. This life is meant to be a learning experience, and I'm grateful for all the learning I was able to do alongside so many amazing people! Yesterday was Palm Sunday, as I'm sure most of you are aware. One of the speakers mentioned the fact that so much changed for the Savior in five short days, and that has stuck with me. Whether it be for the good o...

Where'd All The Time Go???

Sister Richardson's Super Split Seconds Howdy howdy, lovely people! As of Friday, I've been a missionary for 10 MONTHS! Absolutely wild! Wahoo for double digits! Spring has SPRUNG! Virginia is stunning right now. Seeing everything come back to life has been literally so tender! I'm so grateful for new beginnings and fresh starts! Our ward choir recruited the missionaries to sing for Easter. Sister Larsen and I have approximately ZERO musical talent, and the piece they chose is HARD. So much so that the choir director told us we were terrible in front of everyone. Pray we can pull it together for the big Easter musical number! I'll report back after our big debut. I've mentioned this before, but one of my favorite parts about missionary life is the opportunity to talk with so many people! We talk to A LOT of people every day, and usually, they all start to blur together. However, there are always a few interactions that leave me in awe. We had one of these on Saturda...

Hey, It's Me... Again

Sister Richardson's Super Split Seconds Happy Monday! I hope you had a lovely weekend! I apologize for blowing up your inbox again; however, I'm just making good on my promise to always keep you in the loop on the happenings of my life. Depending on the day, Spring is here! Guess what that means? Cherry blossoms! A few have already bloomed, and it's so beautiful to see! In case anyone was wondering, I'm still really good at biffing it. I nearly face-planted into someone's car a few days ago after I tripped over a curb. If you feel like your pride is at an all-time high, take a tumble in public, and I promise you'll experience a good dose of humility. I've been reminded again and again of God's awareness for each of us, but especially so recently. Oftentimes, people say that God sent missionaries to them when they needed Him most. What they don't usually realize is how desperately we, the missionaries, needed them! I'm thankful for a loving Heaven...

Pivot

Sister Richardson's Super Split Seconds Hello beautiful people! We are going to the temple with Flora today for her first time! With that in mind, this will be short and sweet. We've been BUSY. Lessons, meetings, exchanges, giggling, living, laughing, and loving. On Sunday night, I was able to see some of my favorite humans from Gainesville, and it truly moved me to tears! Jackie and Kelvin, if you're reading this, you truly changed my life forever, and your examples of faith inspire me to be better! Keep killing it! As a missionary, 11 times out of 10, things don't go to plan. Initially, this made me quite frustrated because we truly put so much energy into planning our days. However, I've grown to really appreciate the constant chaos, as it's taught me not just to pivot, but to pivot towards HIM. Changing my plans in accordance with His will has given me a whole new understanding of humility and faith. Trusting that His plan is better than mine takes away a lo...
